You can actually feel the earth move thanks to the media collectively dropping to their knees at once because Tiger is in contention.

Yes, let the media love-fest begin anew.
Tiger is back!
(cough, cough)
Sorry, for a minute there I thought another golf major had been won.
No? Oh.
Funny, folks on Twitter seemed to think so.
#Tiger is BACK.

Is Tiger back?
People who don't watch golf always tweet "Tiger's back" when he wins...The reality is he's never left, he just has inconsistent rounds!

No…at least not the version many sports fans/media are thinking of. Why? Because he is not the Tiger people remember him to be. The Tiger that was dominant. The Tiger that had no mercy on courses or opponents. The Tiger that….that….
That Tiger is long gone. Age, off-course issues have taken their toll.
Does that mean he will never be the way he was? No.
Nobody has ever gone back to their dominant self after enduring injuries and personal issues like Tiger. Have they? In an individual sport like golf?
But that does not mean he can’t be great again. He’ll win another major or two or perhaps three. Majors are what matter to Tiger. Everything else is just whipped cream with a cherry on top. (Insert your own joke here)

When (not if) he does win that next major, Tiger will be “back” as far as winning goes.
The once-feared Tiger Woods?
But a memory.

Nice article. I guess a few people are going to be talking about this at the water coolers. This is crazy story because I didn’t think Tiger would comeback. He isn’t very good at coming back on Sunday’s of tournaments but he did it today. And I disagree with you becuase I think Tiger is back but I guess he’s not officially back until he wins a major really. It’s great for golf because with Tiger back, it means that golf is back too. Prepare for Tiger-mania because it’s going to be so intriguing to see what happens in the future. Also, you think you could take a look over at my blog as I’d love to know what you think http://chrisross91.wordpress.com/2012/06/03/tiger-and-golf-are-one/
I just don’t understand why I should be rooting for Tiger. He doesn’t exactly appear to be a likeable person, and his problems were caused by his own actions and no one else’s. I just can’t pull for someone based solely on their ability. There is a human aspect to sports, and he doesn’t measure up in that category in my opinion.
